Q: How do I talk to someone else?
A: Here are a list of commands, and what they do. Remember to
type your command, followed by your message.
Say-To talk openly to
everyone in the room
Tele or tell (person's name)-To telepath someone which
only they can see
Repl-To respond to someone who telepaths you
Os or
>-To talk out of character
Ct-To talk among your clan members
Cls-To
talk with members of your class
Broad-To broadcast a message the entire world
can see
Bremote-To broadcast an emotion to the entire world
Q: Why can't I level
even though I have enough experience points and gold?
A: You probably need to
submit a player history on the forum. At one time, players had to pay to join
Atlas however now we only request that you submit a player history. To visit the
Forums, please click on the button to the left entitled "Forums."
Q: Every time I
attack something, I die. Why?
A: One of the biggest problems for new players,
is that they get frustrated from dieing so much. This is usually because they do
not type "look monstersname" to see whether they can kill it or not. If you are
a lower level (under 5) we would advise staying within reasonable distance from
the Town Square.
Q: Why can't I
connect to Atlas?
A: Recently there was a worm file that attacked numerous
internet users which was transmitted through port 4444. Some internet providers
have now banned anything coming from that port. We recommend that you try using
port 4445 instead. If you are having a problem connecting via a MUD program,
such as Zmud or Gmud, please refer to your user guide. There are also times when
we update the server which may cause the world to temporarily close
down.
Q: I would like to
become a Builder. How do I become one?
A: These positions
rarely become open, and usually require you to join our waiting list. Please
click the "Contact Us" button to the left and fill out the required form. Please
be patient, the demand for these positions is overwhelming.
Q: Is there another program I can use to access Atlas, other than Telnet's Java browser?
A: There are numerous programs available to download, which will help enhance your
experience in Atlas. Most users seem to prefer using Zmud, which offers a free trial.
To download Zmud, Click Here!
Q: Is there a map of Atlas that I can view?
A: Atlas is continually evolving, which makes it difficult to keep a properly updated
map of the world. Though our map is updated continually, there will usually be areas
that are yet to be added to the archive. If you would like to view the most recent picture
of Atlas, Click Here!
